The First 3 Days of Making a Difference!

2007 December 3

In honor of 25 Days to Make a Difference, along with another great blog I found on the subject of feeding the hungry, my first action on Bean’s behalf is a $20 donation to the Salvation Army.

My second thing (since I’m 3 days behind) is to donate the $25 gift card our company gave us to our holiday giving drive to help children in need get new socks and underwear, a small necessity that many of them do without. This is in addition to my planned budget of $40 to purchase these things myself.

My third thing is to donate three new educational books to the drive in Bean’s name.

What’s everyone else doing? Make sure you link to Laura to let her know you’re participating!

And remember, as the wise blogger I’ve linked to mentions in her post, you don’t have to give hundreds of dollars to make a difference. You can donate $1 in the grocery store checkout line. Like Laura, you can give of your time and energy. Bring a freeze-and-heat meal to a new mom. Offer to run errands for an elderly neighbor. Bake cookies for the firemen at your local station. Anything can make a difference for someone!

    A beautiful post! Thank you for linking to me and for making your points so well! All these things really can make a difference. People think small donations can’t help – but they sure do add up! Even one meal or an inexpensive pair of gloves can light up someone’s face.

    Nice to meet you here in blogland, Coco. You made my day! (-;

    You’ve grabbed my attention here – I will be looking more closely for those little ways throughout the holiday season.

    Such a good idea, thank you for posting about it!
