About
Who am I?
I’m a mother. I’m a wife. I’m a good friend. I’m an aspiring writer.
I’m also a…Birth Mother (though I much prefer the term First Mother/Mom). You would never know it to look at me. I look like a schoolteacher. Or a Soccer Mom. I’m ridiculously “normal” and I do normal stuff just like a lot of other people. I love animals and kids and bad Sci-Fi channel movies. I have a good job. I pay my bills on time. I bake a mean loaf of pumpkin bread. I might even live right next door to you.
A lot of this early Blog was about how I felt about circumstances surrounding my choice to relinquish my daughter, “K”, at birth. How the birth and parenting of my second child, my son “Bean” (now called “Badger” due to his sometimes intractable nature), who is now a rapid-fire toddler preschooler (eek!), brought up many different emotions and how I attempted to deal with them.
However, as both of my kids have grown, and my daughter in particular has become a young woman rather than a child, I have moved my postings to other things of interest to me. Part of it is because I am cognizant that this journey we are on is not only my story; it is their story, too, and I don’t know that it’s my place to post it randomly on the internet. Part of it is, because, alas, I simply find myself exhausted by adoption.
From time to time, I will still post my thoughts on general aspects of adoption, and more rarely, my personal history with adoption. In the meantime, you’re more than welcome to follow along with my adventures in potty training, saltwater aquarium fish accidents, road rage, reliving my misspent youth, ranting about Paris Hilton, the many weird dreams I have, and my forays into writing.
I serve margaritas. If you want something else to drink, bring it along.

Hi, Coco, good to meet you! I look forward to reading more
Hi Margie!
Thanks for stopping in. It’s nice to meet you too!
Coco–
I’m so glad that you left your address for me to follow. I, too, look forward to reading more. You give voice to such important issues that many women probably wouldn’t have the courage to address….I can imagine how much this site means to others who have walked in your shoes. This is amazing.
Angela
I am fascinated and plan to read lots more!!!
I hope you continue speaking and writing what you need to say. The course of a river isn’t charted with one rainstorm. I’m riveted by what I’ve read already, and eventually the people who need to hear it most will be also.
